This is a new segment of blogposts that layout Dharma reflections and asana sequences to use for your own Vinyasa classes. As a 200 HR CYT, now working on his full 500 HR yoga teacher training, this has been a beautiful resource in the making, and I'm excited to start sharing the opening rituals and movements I utilize in my own energizing Vinyasa classes, in hopes to inspire you as you collect a repitoire of moving meditations that will help inspire students to connect body with breath while cultivating deeper space for introspection.
Often in classes, I set up my breathwork, pranayama practice, by sitting in deep reflection (centering the sequence around a philosophical viewpoint or perspective). In both my practice as a teacher and mental health therapist, this comes from a deep journey of self-healing, to help others envelop themselves in the discipline of building muscle memory and creating lasting change that impacts students physically, mentally, and emotionally.
