Depression and Anxiety

(You don't have to experience EVERY symptom of anxiety or depression to seek therapy)

It's important to be aware of anxiety and depression, as it pertains to our ability to manage our day-to-day life, including our relationships. In order for us to safely process and manage high levels of distress, we have to learn to regulate and overcome high levels of depression or anxiety that could lead to longer periods of disconnect, isolation or loneliness.

Given that depression and anxiety can co-exist in attachments, EFT provides an effective method for building security and regulation in safe attachment bonds—it provides a way for loved ones to help one another understand and manage emotion. For individuals, the experiential lens of EFT provides a catalyst for building trust with self too. EFT helps establish new ways for couples or individuals to interact and improve communication, which can ultimately improve healthier relationship functioning. Without awareness of these emotions, anxiety and/or depressive mood symptoms can shift our focus from communication, therefore leaving us unable to connect and regulate safely.
